Our Story.

We are a proud Yorkshire farm shop and café who help over 430 local farmers and producers to bring you the best quality tastiest food for you to enjoy at Fodder, at home or sent as a gift.

Fodder is open seven days a week, with free wifi, free parking, a beautiful view and a warm Yorkshire welcome.

Celebrating
Yorkshire

Fodder was established in 2001 to help and support the local farming community. We sell locally sourced food and drink in our award-winning farm shop and café and online from our home in Harrogate. We’ve searched our beautiful county to source the very best farmers and producers and we are beyond proud to work with more than 430 Yorkshire farmers and producers. An amazing 85% of what we sell and serve comes from Yorkshire.

Growing the farming community

We want to inspire you to eat well so we’ve made local food accessible and affordable to our customers while helping the local farming community to grow and prosper. Not only do we support farmers directly by buying from them, every penny we make goes to support the work of the charity – the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.

Experience and enjoy

Championing Yorkshire food and drink, our team of staff are dedicated to ensuring customers enjoy their food experience with us. Our café showcases our wide range of locally sourced food and we are passionate about eating food in season – when it is at its best and nutritious.

We look forward to welcoming you into the Fodder family.

Supporting our community

Fodder is one of the commercial activities of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.

The profits from Fodder go directly to the Society, a registered charity, and help contribute to the funding of the Society’s charitable work. The charitable work of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society provides help to children, teachers and people in the rural community, through education, development and support.

Food that cannot be sold or used in the café is donated to local food charities included Harrogate Homeless Project and Resurrected Bites.

We have regular collections from these charities who use our waste food to divert good quality produce from going to landfill. These charities convert it into meals for cafes, meals at homeless shelters and provide it to families through community grocery scheme.
