We were described as a “true local treasure celebrating all things Yorkshire” which was a very proud moment for all of us. Judges described us as a unique food hall and kitchen where all profits support the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.”
They described Fodder championing more than 400 local suppliers, offering Yorkshire’s best produce, from cheeses to craft beers, with customer service at its heart.
They looked at how we had recently refurbished to create a modern shop and café, “boosting its reputation nationally, with Fodder named among Britain’s top 21 food halls” (Speciality Food magazine).
Judges also looked at how Fodder donates surplus food to local charities and hosts community events as well as describing how we have “exceptional staff benefits and a loyal customer base”.
A team from Fodder was at the awards ceremony at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Harrogate where we beat off stiff competition to take the award for the Retail Business of the Year category.
We couldn’t be prouder and this is a huge tribute to our hardworking team, fabulous suppliers and producers as well as loyal customers – many of whom have been with us on our journey since opening in 2009. Thank you!
