Our second stop on Fodder on the Mooove took us to The Kandlers Table, a close neighbour to Fodder, where owner Natalie handcrafts candles and diffusers from her kitchen table, less than a mile away from Fodder.
What began as a way to support families facing challenging times has grown into a thriving and much-loved Yorkshire business.

A few years ago, Natalie’s daughter Esmee spent a significant amount of time in intensive care, requiring emergency surgery and a lobectomy at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
‘’They saved Esmee’s life, and I wanted to give back to Great Ormond Street and the community we’d built along the way. So, I sent candles and Mother’s Day and Father’s Day bits and bobs, and it just grew from there really.’’
That was the beginning of The Kandlers Table. Not long afterwards, Natalie walked into Fodder hoping to secure her very first wholesale order.

‘’It was huge going into Fodder! I was shaking like a leaf when I walked in, but I was greeted with a massive hug and a cup of tea. I felt part of the Fodder Family before my products were even stocked.’’
Today, Natalie supplies six stockists across Yorkshire and regularly attends numerous weekend markets throughout the area.
‘’I love working on a local scale, and that people know and understand what I do and why I do it. It’s manageable for me to do myself and still enjoy it.’’
Natalie creates a wide variety of candle and diffuser fragrances, each inspired by personal memory. A firm favourite at Fodder is Midnight Hour, a scent created in memory of the conversations Natalie used to have with her grandfather while he enjoyed a late-night whisky.
Everything produced by The Kandlers Table is made entirely by hand, from pouring and curing the candles to labelling and packaging each product.

Giving back remains at the heart of the business. Every year, The Kandlers Table donates a percentage of its profits to Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Natalie personally delivers candles to parents with children currently receiving care in the intensive care wards.
The Kandlers Table offers the most exquisite candles and diffusers, but the business also creates a remarkable ripple effect, giving back to those who need it most, while filling homes with beautiful fragrances.
